Amid reports Montana’s governor is mulling a run for U.S. Senate, gun owners are warning if Steve Bullock’s were to win, it would mean more support for federal gun control.

The Montana Daily Gazette compiled some of Bullock’s most extreme, anti-gun statements:

“As a hunter and a gun owner, I know that no real hunter needs a 30-round clip, no real hunter needs a weapon of war, they don’t need a bump stock, they don’t want a terrorist or a domestic abuser or a violent felon to have a gun. Period.”

“Let’s be clear, the NRA divides us. It is a dark-money-filled group that uses guns and the threat of everyone’s guns being taken away to polarize the issue and get to the point where we can never have a reasonable discussion about it.”

“Even most gun owners are tired of having concerns about whether their kids will be safe if they go to a movie or a festival.”

According to the Gazette, Bullock has expressed support for a so-called “assault weapons ban,” red flag laws, and universal background checks, though his support appears to change depending on whom he’s addressing.
