In a country that, at times, seems overrun by anti-gun lawmakers, it’s refreshing to see a governor boldly stand up for Second Amendment rights.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster recently said during a press conference:

“It is within the Constitution to not go any further than necessary to protect the liberty of the people without depriving them their rights.

“Everyone should stay home unless they’re working, visiting family or (exercising) outdoors, obtaining necessary goods and services. Those are the limits.”

Included among the goods and services McMaster’s administration considers to be “necessary” and firearms. Specially, the governor said:

“It’s a constitutional right to have and bear arms.”
