GPM recently reported on H.R. 127, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s (D-TX) “Firearm Licensing and Registration Act.”

Several gun rights groups, including the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR), are warning their supporters about the dangers of this bill.

“H.R. 127 is, simply put, our worst nightmare,” Dudley Brown, NAGR’s president, writes in a recent message to supporters.

NAGR reports this bill would:

Create a National Gun Licensing system

Require gun owners to get firearm insurance

Create a PUBLICLY accessible registry for firearms and ammunition

Institute federal waiting periods on firearm purchases

Ban standard capacity magazines, 10 rounds and up

The Firearms Policy Coalition is calling H.R. 127 “2021’s Gunpocalypse,” noting the bill would send more than “10 million patriots to prison,” because of its “impossible to comply-with” mandates.

Mark Steyn pointed highlighted on Fox News that Lee’s bill would require psychological evaluations by several people to determine “the state of the mental, emotional, and relational stability of the individual in relation to firearms.”

Throw in an $800 processing fee, and you may be able to exercise your Second Amendment rights, but only with certain guns, certain types of ammunition, and in a very limited manner:
