With U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announcing his retirement earlier this week, much talk has been made about who should replace him on the Court.

The Left has taken particular interest in this move, given their obsession with having justices who will legislate from the bench and carry out whatever policy fixations they have at the moment.

Pro-civilian disarmament organization March for Our Lives is using the Breyer retirement to advocate for a more anti-Second Amendment Supreme Court justice to fill his seat. The organization wants, “President Biden to pick a Supreme Court nominee who supports the right of innocent Americans not to be shot,” writes Jason Easley of PoliticusUSA.

PoliticusUSA received a statement in which March for Our Lives stated, “The President has a sacred obligation to the American people—to defend our constitutional rights and pursue our best interests. We hope and expect that the President will nominate a Justice who will protect and support our inalienable right to life, and our right not to be shot. We will not settle for less.”

March for Our Lives continued:

“It is a simple concept. If people have the right to own guns, they also have a right not to be shot when they are going to work, school, church, synagogue, the movies, the grocery store, or trying to live their daily lives.

“Each of the places that were listed above has been a general location for a deadly mass shooting.”

The anti-gun group concluded:

“The American people don’t have to live with the constant fear of their kids getting shot when they send them to school or mom or dad losing their lives at work.

There will be no legislative solution in Congress to gun violence until the Senate changes the filibuster, but while the nation waits for Democrats to build a majority that will do the right thing, President Biden can take a big first step by choosing a SCOTUS nominee who wants to prevent gun violence and make safety the law of the land.”

March for Our Lives was founded in 2018 in the aftermath of the Parkland, Florida Massacre, when a deranged gunman killed 17 people. Since then, March for Our Lives has become one of the loudest organizations calling for gun control measures such as universal gun registration, “assault weapons” bans, and so-called “high-capacity magazine” bans. Organizations like March for Our Lives are dedicated to brainwashing the youth and convincing them that gun control is a viable public safety policy.

The harsh reality these groups overlook is that massacres like the one that took place in Parkland are largely the product of dangerous “gun-free” zones which really function as criminal safe spaces.

In fact, the Crime Prevention Research Center compiled evidence revealing that 98 percent of mass shootings have occurred in gun-free zones since 1950.

How many more school shootings will it take for politicians to recognize that gun-free zones are a deadly policy?

Such data will never be acknowledged by the likes of March for Our Lives, whose main purpose is to indoctrinate and churn out pro-civilian disarmament automatons. Second Amendment advocates will have to take proactive steps to build youth organizations that educate young people on safe ownership practices, while also explaining to them the importance of the Second Amendment.
