Today is #NationalWalkoutDay, and Time reports “thousands” (tens of thousands? hundreds of thousands? a couple thousand? Time is suspiciously nebulous) of students and teachers are walking out of classrooms “to raise awareness about issues of school safety and the impact of gun violence.”
Here are 10 tweets that capture the day:
They want ‘fewer prayers’
The people walking out apparently don’t want us to think or pray about solutions to gun violence, but simply to be aware of it and then act!
"We're asking for fewer prayers, fewer words, and more action."

Andrew Cuomo thinks ‘taking action’ means lying down:

As usual, the MSM is only telling half the story:
The media will only show students in favor of gun control during today's walkout. I've received dozens of emails from high school students with another story to tell, and who feel bullied into acting as props for an agenda they oppose. https://t.co/xPR6QWJM0i

The #NationalWalkoutDay doesn’t represent me or the scores of young men and women I know that advocate for every law-abiding citizen’s right to defend themselves. They understand the gun isn’t the issue but the man or woman behind the gun that counts. pic.twitter.com/S5aDlr8bqr

Not everyone is OK with public schools encouraging political activism:
Joe McCarthy, who you all mock, warned you the commies were infiltrating the schools. Just a quick reminder as you see government teachers in government schools encouraging children to take part in political activism. #NationalWalkoutDay

Please pray for the misguided adult-children who are encouraging our youth to skip school for their political agenda.
They are unhinged. They are foolish. And, their 'resistance' has become a semi-religious cult.
They are sick people.#NationalWalkoutDay #WalkoutWednesday

What an abomination. Our children walk out because the adults who lead them are too stupid and brainwashed themselves to actually teach them.
Our children are being indoctrinated to fear guns, freedom of speech and fellow Americans.#NationalWalkoutDay

Students are walking out of their classrooms to protest against the 2nd Amendment and the Constitution. I guess these schools didn't teach these kids the importance of liberty and our right to defend ourselves. #NationalWalkoutDay

Change within the classroom is “action” that doesn’t infringe on our Constitutional rights:
If these students want to make a difference in their schools … Stop bullying kids. Start with being a friend to that loner…you don’t know what they’re going through. #NationalWalkoutDay

And just because:
Yes, let's mimic the European model of surrendering our weapons so we're defenseless when the barbarian hordes invade and start assaulting our women. https://t.co/vM80ADd0eD
