An armed citizen who shot and killed a carjacker who had shot two innocent bystanders during his spree at a Washington State Wal-Mart has been identified as a 47-year-old pastor.
The man, who requested anonymity, “is credited with saving several lives when he stopped a man firing shots at a Walmart in Washington Sunday,” USA Today reported.
“Without him how many lives could [the gunman] have taken?” said Danner Barton, a 16-year-old who was shot in the hand by the carjacker. “So super-thankful for that hero.”

Two armed citizens stopped a gunman who opened fire in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Washington State over the weekend.
“People reported a driver was driving in the wrong direction in the vicinity,” the Tacoma News Tribune reported. “…The suspect then headed to Walmart. When [police] arrived at the Walmart, they learned that a man had tried to carjack a car and shot a man inside the car twice. He then tried to carjack another car. Two citizens in the parking lot drew weapons; at least one of them shot and killed the armed man…”
Two innocent people were injured in the incident before the gunman was stopped, the Daily Mail reported.
The armed pastor is also a volunteer firefighter and medic, according to reports.
