With Joe Biden now the president of the United States, the Second Amendment movement faces unique challenges.
Despite talks about Joe Biden being a centrist, the long-time political insider is a proven opponent of our right to keep and bear arms. Biden is a D.C. insider through and through.
Biden was a key sponsor of the 1990 Gun-Free School Zones Act, which turned thousands of schools nationwide into soft targets for mass shooters. He followed up his gun-grabbing escapades by signing on to the Brady Act and the 1994 Assault Weapons Act.
Biden made it a point to establish himself as a paladin of civilian disarmament on the campaign trail. Biden was explicit about banning “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines, in addition to imposing universal background checks on peaceful, private transfers between lawful gun owners.
But this was only the tip of the iceberg.
The current president approves of a ban on online sales of ammunition, guns, and gun parts. He also vows to resurrect the Social Security gun ban, which singled-out benefit recipients with financial troubles. One-gun-a-month purchase limits are also on deck. According to Biden’s campaign website, “Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.”
Gun Control Inc. is jumping for joy at Biden’s occupation of the Oval Office, along with Chuck Schumer in control of the Senate and Nancy Pelosi at helm of the House. Pro-Second Amendment organizations such as the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) recognize the threat Biden poses. NAGR Communications Director Chris Stone explained what’s in store for gun owners if Biden and his congressional counterparts have their way:
“As a U.S. Senator, Biden played a key role in the passage of the Brady Act and the 1994 ‘assault weapon’ ban. We know from Biden’s own mouth that he wants to pass Universal Gun Registration, bans on semi-automatic firearms, bans on standard capacity magazines, and even nationwide ‘Red Flag’ gun confiscation.
And Kamala Harris will surely be egging him on – demanding for the total evisceration of the Second Amendment as we know it.”
While most conservative leaders are still processing the absurd nature of the 2020 elections, NAGR is ready to fight back against gun grabs that Biden and company try to conjure up:
The National Association for Gun Rights will fully oppose every single gun control bill pushed by Joe Biden, or anyone else in the D.C. Swamp.
Biden and his team will most certainly be pursuing gun control this go-around, but if gun owners unite and organize effectively, Gun Control Inc. will be in for a rude awakening.
